Biography

Andrew Huntley-Robertson grew up in Rhode Island on the shores of Narragansett Bay. In 1985 he received a degree in Art History/Studio Art from Bucknell University.

Andrew moved to New York City after college and spent 15 years studying oil painting part time at the Art Students League. Instructors Barbara Adrian and Peter Homitsky had a particularly beneficial influence on his work at the League. In 2000 Andrew moved to Summit, NJ where he continues to paint in oils in his home studio.

Andrew’s paintings focus on light and its play on the subjects he depicts. In his Water Scenes, Andrew focuses with special intensity on the patterns that light creates through waters reflection, the movement of waves and the formation of clouds. In his Still Lifes, the sharp contrast between light and dark bring his paintings to life.

Andrew’s work can be seen at Jersey Shore Moments Fine Art Gallery in Manasquan, NJ, the Anchor & Palette Gallery in Bay Head, NJ and Frederick Galleries in Spring Lake, NJ. His work is also available by commission.
